Technical Assistance Capacity Development In Safeguarding
Technical Assistance Capacity Development In Safeguarding
Project Rationale
At Impact and Innovations Development Centre, we work with organisations to promote a safeguarding culture where human beings are equal and treated with dignity.
For us to live in a safe environment, we need to accept that safety is a life style that we ought to embody.
It is for this that IIDC is committed to protecting children and vulnerable adults from abuse, violence and exploitation through our technical advisory support on safeguarding practices to humanitarian and development organisations across Africa.
Summary Of The Initiative
Goal of safeguarding Technical Assistance
Institutions and organisations that are safe andare committed to ensuring safety for both internal workers, clients and entire community in which they operate.
Objective
We work with institutions and organisations in Africa to develop safeguarding policies, build capacities and
accompany them to implement safeguarding practices and eliminate all forms of abuse and exploitation for children and adults at risk.
Our Services
We provide technical capacities on safeguarding including safeguarding training, risk assessment, policy development/refinement, policy implementation planning and tools development, resource planning and quality assurance.
IIDC facilitates design and implementation of safeguarding learning plans for organisations, document learning and also organise and convene Communities of Practice on safeguarding, where we ensure that organisations implementing safeguarding standards are a part of one big family that learns from each other towards improvement in line with ensuring safety for all.
We provide specialist support to organisations to manage cases of abuse, including undertaking case investigations so that they can make defensible and objective decisions. During case investigations, we ensure confidentiality, as well as protection and upholding organisation’s reputation.
We embrace the opportunity to find new ways of safeguarding children, adults at risk and those working with them. IIDC supports research which highlights the scale and nature of the safeguarding challenges and the ways in which harm can be reduced based on context and programming industry. Using these results, we support organisations and institutions to create safe solutions for those they serve.
